I'm Nellie Le, an artist & illustrator living in Los Angeles. Forever a dreamer & idealist.
Born in 1986 and raised in the suburbs to the east of Los Angeles. I grew up watching mid-century Disney shorts, which has a huge influence on my work today. I paint (almost) exclusively with Holbein acryla gouache. My color palette is influenced by the colors from my childhood.
I listen to an excessive amount of emo/pop punk/post-hardcore music while I work.
I received a BFA in Graphic Design with Honors from California State University, Long Beach. In my early 20s, I worked at a little art gallery in Alhambra, CA. I have since given up a life of pixel pushing to paint a bunch of animals and food.
I have also worked under Amanda Visell.
If I wasn't making art, I would've liked to have been a wildlife conservationist. But a portion of proceeds from my work is donated to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
I'm currently available for freelance illustration work and commissions.
